Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Start Project, LLC (DBA Playtime Sports) (“Playtime,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Playtime team management and youth sports platform at playtime.net and its subdomains.

Address: 35 Miller Ave #299, Mill Valley, CA 94941
Contact: info@playtime.net

2. Information we collect

  • Coach accounts. Name, email address, profile details, and team metadata provided by coaches who create teams.
  • Roster data. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, jersey numbers, positions, optional birthday + shirt / pant size, and parent/guardian relationships, provided by team coaches via paste-in roster.
  • Event and message data. Schedules, RSVPs, attendance, announcements, and attachments uploaded by team members.
  • Communication preferences. Per-recipient channel preferences (email, SMS, push), bounce and delivery state, and opt-out flags.
  • Device and log data. IP address, browser / device type, and request timestamps recorded in server logs for security and debugging. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking technologies.

3. How we use information

  • Provide and improve Playtime services.
  • Deliver team-related messages to opted-in recipients.
  • Secure accounts and prevent abuse.
  • Analyze aggregate usage trends and plan new features.
  • Send transactional messages (account alerts, magic-link authentication, team announcements).
  • Send optional product updates only with your consent.

4. SMS and text messaging

See our dedicated SMS Consent page for the full Call-to-Action and opt-in flow.

Playtime sends transactional SMS messages on behalf of team coaches — schedule changes, RSVP requests, and team announcements. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS.

No mobile information — including phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and consent — will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any purpose.

  • How recipients opt in.The recipient first receives a magic-link email confirming they were added to a team. After they confirm their identity, they may optionally add their phone number via web form and choose to opt in to SMS transactional messages on their personal notification-settings page by toggling the “SMS” preference on. The SMS toggle is off by default; affirmative action by the recipient is required for SMS delivery.
  • Message frequency.Typically 0–5 messages per week per team, driven by coach activity. Message and data rates from the recipient's carrier may apply.
  • Opting out. Reply STOP to any Playtime SMS to stop further messages from that team. Replying HELP returns this support address.
  • Service provider.SMS delivery is carried out by Twilio, Inc., acting solely as our message-delivery service provider. Phone numbers and message content are transmitted to Twilio only to deliver the team messages a recipient opted into — never for Twilio's own marketing, and never for any third party's marketing.
  • Who can see a phone number. A phone number on a team roster is visible only to the coaches and admins of that specific team and to our message-delivery service provider for the sole purpose of delivering messages. It is never made available to other teams, other users, advertisers, or data brokers.

5. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR) and data location

We process data based on consent, performance of our agreement with you, legitimate interests (securing and operating the service), and compliance with legal obligations. EU/UK users may request access, correction, deletion, or data portability by emailing info@playtime.net, or via the in-app deletion request described in Section 11.

Where your data is stored.Playtime's database and authentication run on Supabase, hosted in the United States (West US region). Email, SMS, and payment processing are performed by other U.S.-based providers (see Section 7). If you access Playtime from outside the United States — including the EU/UK — your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S.; where required, those transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards under our providers' data processing agreements.

6. Children's data (COPPA)

Playtime is a team-administration tool intended for use by adults — coaches, team admins, and parents or guardians. Account creation, roster entry, messaging, and payments are all adult-facing. We do not direct the service to children and do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts or provide information directly to us.

Roster information about minors(such as a player's name, jersey number, position, and optional birthday) is entered by the team's coach, admin, or a parent/guardian acting on the team or league's authority. The coach, team, and league are responsible for obtaining any parental consent required by COPPA or local law before adding a minor's information, and for confirming they have authority to do so.

Photos, video, and broadcasts.Teams may capture game photos and highlights and broadcast games — including to public platforms such as YouTube — that can show minors. The team is responsible for obtaining each player's parent or guardian's consent for that capture and public broadcast before using these features.

If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information directly to us, or you want a minor's information removed, contact info@playtime.net and we will delete it promptly.

7. Sharing and subprocessors

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share data only with the service providers (subprocessors) needed to operate Playtime, each bound by a data processing agreement and permitted to use the data solely to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (U.S.).
  • Vercel — application hosting and request logs (U.S.).
  • Resend — transactional and team email delivery.
  • Twilio — SMS delivery (phone numbers and message content only; see Section 4).
  • Stripe, and the Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing.
  • Anthropic— when a coach pastes roster or schedule text for automatic parsing, that text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract structured data. It is used only to return the parsed result and is not used to train models.

We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

8. User-generated content

Content uploaded to Playtime (rosters, schedules, messages, attachments) is visible according to the team-membership rules of the team where it's posted. Avoid posting sensitive personal information beyond what's necessary for team administration. You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to the content you share.

9. Payments

Paid features run through Apple, Google, or Stripe. Payment credentials are handled by those providers under their own terms and privacy notices.

10. Retention and security

We retain data while your account or team is active or as needed for legal purposes. We use encryption, access controls, row-level security policies, and monitoring to protect data, though no system is perfectly secure.

11. Your rights

You may update profile details in-app and opt out of SMS by replying STOP or turning SMS off in your notification settings. You can request deletion of your account and personal data from within the app— coaches from Team Settings, parents and players from their profile page (“Delete my data”) — which submits a request we process promptly. You may also email info@playtime.net for access, correction, portability, or deletion.

California residents may exercise the rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

12. Cookies and tracking

Playtime uses only strictly necessary, first-party cookies — to keep you signed in (authentication / session) and to remember your current team. We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party analytics cookies, and we do not embed third-party trackers. Because these cookies are essential to deliver the service you requested, they do not require consent under EU/UK ePrivacy rules; blocking them in your browser may break sign-in and other core features.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted with an updated “last updated” date. Continued use means you accept the revised policy.
