SMS Consent

Last updated: May 26, 2026

Program name

Playtime Team Notifications— transactional text messages sent on behalf of a youth-sports team's coach to the parents and players on that coach's private team roster.

What messages are sent

  • Schedule changes (practice and game times, locations, cancellations).
  • RSVP requests and reminders for upcoming team events.
  • Team announcements from the coach (e.g., uniform pick-up, snack rotation).

We do not send marketing, promotional, or third-party content over SMS. We do not lend, sell, or otherwise provide phone numbers or consent data to any third party for marketing purposes.

Message frequency

Typically 0–5 messages per week per team, driven entirely by coach activity. Message and data rates may apply from the recipient's mobile carrier.

How recipients opt in (the Call to Action)

Opt-in happens on the recipient's own authenticated notification-settings page — reachable only after the recipient signs in via a magic link sent to the email a coach added them with, so only the person who controls that address can opt in. The steps are:

  1. The recipient receives a magic-link email from Playtime confirming they were added to a team. Clicking the link signs them in to their personal team page.
  2. After confirming their identity, the recipient opens Settings → Notifications (URL: https://team.playtime.net/p/me) and may optionally add their own phone number in the web form there.
  3. Once a phone number is on file, the recipient may turn on the SMS channel toggle, which is off by default. The recipient must affirmatively switch it on; no SMS is sent without that toggle being on.

The toggle sits next to the verbatim consent disclosure shown in the next section. Toggling SMS on is the consent action.

Consent language shown at the opt-in toggle

The following text is rendered directly next to the SMS toggle on the recipient's notifications-settings page. It is visible before the recipient turns the toggle on, regardless of the toggle's state.

By turning SMS on, you agree to receive automated text messages from your team's coach — schedule changes, RSVPs, and announcements. Typically 0–5 messages per week per team. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any text to opt out, HELP for help. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Opting out and HELP

  • Reply STOP to any Playtime text to stop further messages from that team. Carrier-level STOP processing is handled by our delivery provider, Twilio. A confirmation message is returned.
  • Reply HELP to any Playtime text to receive this support address: info@playtime.net.
  • Recipients may also turn the SMS toggle off in their settings at any time. Doing so removes them from all subsequent SMS for that team.

Privacy of phone numbers and consent data

No mobile information — including phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and consent — will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any purpose.

A phone number on a team roster is visible only to the coaches and admins of that specific team and to Twilio (our message-delivery service provider) for the sole purpose of delivering the team messages a recipient opted into. See our full Privacy Policy (section 4) for additional detail.
